Phoenix

Ginny and I went to Phoenix this past weekend. The Phoenix is my favorite bird and the city has some of my favorite people in it. The theme of the weekend was definitely food. Here are some examples:

Of course, the first morning we had chocolate gravy. It's an old family recipe that I remember eating since I was little.

We also ate homemade apple pie

(smells good)

Drinks at the Biltmore...

This stuff...

Now, at some point in your life, someone may offer you some pickled okra...

I reached that point in my life and I accepted the offer. Be prepared for this statement... "I know what you're thinking but it's really not bad." At the time I couldn't think of anything I like to eat that is pickled. Including pickles. And I'd only had okra when it was fried- which I love. So I had a dilemma on my hands. I think I made the right decision. And yes, I know what you're thinking but it's really not that bad.

  1. Hey Matt! I couldn't help but comment on this - I remember eating pickled okra several times as a child. Not too bad, but I guess you do have to like pickled things. I saw Ginny post your blog on Facebook so I thought I'd check it out. Hope you guys are doing well!
